COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL AND RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY DVELOPMENT

David Bowers, one of Queensland’s most experienced and highly qualified Property Lawyers, has brough a wealth of property development experience to Dillon Bowers Lawyers upon joining the firm in 2013.

David was formerly a senior partner, heading a large team of lawyers in the national tier one firm, Minter Ellison and has now brought that “big-city,” high end expertise to Townsville.

David has lead teams of lawyers working on projects ranging from billion-dollar, multi-staged mixed-use developments to small scale residential property developments and community title schemes.

David has acted for national listed companies including Sunland Limited and Villa World Limited and has also acted for major Asian developers investing in Australia including the Chinese Ridong Group (on their billion dollar “Jewel” development on the Gold Coast) and for the Singaporean Ho Bee Group.

David has developed a special expertise in relation to community title schemes and off the plan contracts, ensuring that developer’s sale contracts are watertight and not exposed to termination by purchasers seeking to change their mind.

David has also acted in a number of large-scale commercial acquisitions and sales and has personally managed electronic data rooms on behalf of commercial clients selling complex leased commercial properties for the purposes of disclosure to intending purchasers during due diligence.

David has formed a very capable team of Townsville based Development Lawyers who are able to meet all the needs and requirements of developers who may be seeking high quality legal advice with respect to their future development plans.

Our firm offers the convenience of a locally based legal firm, coupled with the highest levels of expertise in the area of development law.

As part of our firms range of skills in advising developers, David has also developed a track record as one of Queensland’s leading Body Corporate Lawyers and has had primary responsibility for preparing submissions on behalf of both Property Council and the Urban Development Institute of Australia with respect to Government reviews of Queensland’s body corporate laws.

That body corporate expertise is of benefit both to developers and to other client’s seeking to understand their rights and obligations in the often quite complicated area of body corporate law.
